Graduate or Undergraduate Student Support

Fund Purpose:
This Fund shall be used to provide undergraduate and graduate students within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences with support for academic study or experiences that require students to relocate nationally or internationally. Examples include study abroad, the University of California District of Columbia (UCDC) program, internships, fellowships and academic research.

B. Criteria and Selection Process
At the direction of the Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) and/or their designee(s), students may be selected to receive the González-Rivera Endowed Travel Award at any point during the academic year as opportunities become available. Criteria include:

-Student must be majoring in a discipline offered by CHASS.

-Student must be registered for academic credit via study abroad or independent study credits for a project related to the academic experience, or is working with a faculty member on a plan for the research project, service learning opportunity, or other educational experience.

Award will be commensurate with demonstrated need and determined in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid for undergraduate students or Graduate Division for graduate students.

In addition, funds may be used to provide for travel expenses between Southern California (or the awardee's official home residence) and study destination. Arrangements will be made by CHASS in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid for undergraduate students Aid or Graduate Division for graduate students.
