Sullivan Graduate Scholarship Endowed Fund Department: SPP Dean's Office Dept D01313 Purpose: Graduate Student Support BACKGROUND Dr. Michael Sullivan is a Senior Vice President of Nexant, Inc., a global supplier of engineering and economic consulting services and software to the energy industry. Consulting to utilities and government for over 30 years, Dr. Sullivan is a recognized expert in utility business planning. His clients include all of the investor-owned utilities in California, as well as many of the largest investor owned utilities in the US, including the US Department of Energy and the Electric Power Research Institute. Dr. Sullivan has established The Michael J. Sullivan Graduate Scholarship Endowed Fund to express his commitment to supporting graduate students in the School of Public Policy who demonstrate financial need while striving to attain educational success. General Purpose: This fund will provide support to graduate students in the School of Public Policy who demonstrate financial need and commitment to complete their Masters in Public Policy at UC Riverside. Criteria and Selection Process This Fund will support School of Public Policy graduate students who demonstrate financial need and commitment to complete their Masters in Public Policy at UC Riverside. The recipient(s) will be chosen by a committee selected by the Dean of the School of Public Policy or their designee. Preference will be given to students who express interest in pursuing a career in public service. In years when there is no candidate who meets the criteria, awards will be held until the following year.
