Fund: Michael P. Huerta SPP Ron Loveridge Public Service Endowed Fund Department: SPP Dean's Office Dept D01313 Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support BACKGROUND Michael Huerta ’78 served as the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from 2013 to 2018. He currently serves as a business consultant, advising clients in the aviation, aerospace, transportation and technology sectors. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Delta Air Lines, Inc., and Verra Mobility Corporation. He is an experienced transportation official who has held leadership positions across the country, including serving as Managing Director of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, as Commissioner of New York City's Department of Ports and as the Executive Director of the Port of San Francisco. General Puporse: This fund will provide support to undergraduate students in the School of Public Policy (SPP) who participate in the Loveridge’s Summer Fellowship Program in Sacramento. Criteria and Selection Process This Fund will support School of Public Policy undergraduate students who are committed to public service upon completion of their degrees at UCR. The recipient(s) will be chosen by a committee selected by the Dean of the School of Public Policy or their designee. In years when there is no candidate who meets the criteria, awards will be held until the following year.
