Purpose:

Graduate Student Support

BACKGROUND:
Michael Huerta ’78 served as the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from 2013 to 2018. He currently serves as a business consultant, advising clients in the aviation, aerospace, transportation and technology sectors. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Delta
Air Lines, Inc., and Verra Mobility Corporation. He is an experienced transportation official who has held leadership positions across the country, including serving as Managing Director of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, as Commissioner of New York City's Department of Ports and as the Executive Director of the Port of San Francisco.

General Purpose:
The fund will provide support to graduate students in the School of Public Policy who demonstrate financial need and commitment to complete their Masters in Public Policy at UC Riverside.

Criteria and Selection Process
This Fund will support School of Public Policy graduate students. The recipient(s) will be chosen by a committee selected by the Dean of the School of Public Policy or their designee. Preference will be given to students who express interest in pursuing a career in public service.

In years when there is no candidate who meets the criteria, awards will be held until the following year.
