Purpose:

Undergraduate Student Support

Fund Purpose: This Fund shall be used to provide annual scholarships to reduce student financial debt from tuition and fees in support of transfer undergraduate students enrolled in the UCR School of Business undergraduate program.


General Purpose
This Fund shall be used to provide annual scholarships to reduce student financial debt from tuition and fees in support of transfer undergraduate students enrolled in the UCR School of Business undergraduate program.


Criteria and Selection Process
This Fund shall be used to provide student support to retain transfer undergraduate students to ensure financial need does not hinder the academic and professional development of these students meeting the following criteria:
- Incoming or returning undergraduate students that have attended a California community college prior to matriculating to UCR and have completed at least one quarter at UCR.
- In good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or better
- Demonstrates financial need
- Preference will be given to students who have identified as a member of a Special Population as defined by the California Community Colleges (CCC) including but not limited to (Disabled Program and Services, Military, Foster Youth, Incarcerated, MESA-ASEM, Puente, MCHS-ECHS, Umoja, Parent/Guardian Education Level, CAA, CAFYES, Baccalaureate, CCAP, Economically Disadvantaged, Ex-Offender, Homeless, Long-term Unemployed, Cultural Barrier Status, Seasonal Farm Work, Literacy, Work Based Learning), in addition to students who qualified for Extended Opportunity Program Services (EOPS) including Next Up (Foster Youth), and Honors Program during their time at a community college

Scholarships will be awarded annually to one or more current undergraduate transfer students enrolled in the School of Business who demonstrate financial need and academic achievement.

Recipients shall be selected by a faculty committee appointed by the Dean of the School of Business. In years when there are no candidates who meet the criteria, awards will be held until the following year. In addition, if more than one candidate is deemed worthy of support and meets the criteria, two or more awards may be given provided there is sufficient funding.
