Purpose:

Purpose:
This Fund will award merit-based undergraduate scholarships at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid. This Fund will feed major merit-based scholarships at UCR such as the Regents and Chancellor's level scholarships.

Criteria and Selection Process:
This scholarship will be awarded to new or continuing California Undergraduates based on their academic achievements. There is no separate application required - applicants are automatically considered for an academic scholarship when they apply for admission to UCR. Each award should be at least $1,600, and eligible scholarship recipients must fit one of the following criteria:

1. California residents and AB540 eligible students entering from high school with good academic standing determined by the Office of Financial Aid;

2. California residents and AB540 eligible students entering from a community college with good academic standing determined by the Office of Financial Aid;

3. Continuing UCR students are awarded with a 3.0 GPA or better.

In years when funding is not needed by Financial Aid, funds can be held until the following year.
