Purpose:

Undergraduate Student Support

Background:
Dr. Dericksen Brinkerhoff, Emeritus Professor of Art History, served as a University faculty member for 26 years (1965-1991). An acclaimed scholar, Dr. Brinkerhoff was known for his expertise in the art of classical Greece and Rome. In addition to his academic duties he and his beloved spouse, Mary W. Brinkerhoff, were active in a variety of campus and community organizations, including the UCR Botanic Garden, the Old Riverside Foundation, and the Mission Inn Foundation.. His service to the University community and the preservation of Riverside's cultural legacy exemplified collegiality, hard work, and philanthropy.

General Purpose:
The Dericksen M. Brinkerhoff Endowed Scholarship Fund shall be used to provide undergraduate student support and will be determined by the Financial Aid Office.

Criteria and Selection Process:
- Recipients shall be a UCR student in good academic standing, majoring in any subject.
- Recipient is required to take an elective course in Art History.

In years when there are no candidates who meet the criteria, awards may be held until the following year when there is an eligible candidate. In years when there is more than one deserving student, more than one award may be given provided there is sufficient funding.
