Fund: Jeremy Robert Harrison Endowed Award Fund Department: Undergrad Student Financial Aid D02089 Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support History and Purpose: Jeremy Harrison was a student at UC Riverside from 2000 - 2005. He was active in many areas of campus life. He was a Bear Facts Counselor for two years, an active member in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, a Student Senator for College of Engineering with Associated Students UCR from 2003-2005, and participated in intramural bowling. He was a Student Representative on the College of Engineering Executive Committee from 2003-2005, and the Chair of the UCR Commencement Committee in 2004-2005. Jeremy assisted his fellow students as a Math Study Group Leader in the Learning Center. Jeremy was known as a friendly, positive and fun-loving individual, who was a very bright and involved student. He passed away on October 20, 2005 due to complications of leukemia. The Jeremy RObert Harrison Award Fund shall be used to provide students support at the direction of the Associated Students, UCR (ASUCR). Selection and Guidelines: Junior or Senior showing Leadership - The Jeremy Robert Harrison Award Fund shall be used to provide student support at the direction of the Associated Students, UCR (ASUCR). Scholarship Criteria for the Harrison Award: -Junior or Senior enrolled full-time at UCR -Minimum GPA of 3.0 -Active participant in school activities -Demonstrated leadership within UCR and the surrounding community Applicants must provide: -General application information (e.g. name, major, contact information) -Resume -A list of current and past university activities -Two letters of recommendation, and -An essay between 500 to 1000 words detailing how experiences at UCR have changed applicant's perception of the world. Continuing UCR students may apply between January 2nd to March 2nd using the online Continuing Student Scholarship Application available with the Financial Aid Office.
