Fund: The Leland M. Shannon Endowed Fund In Biochemistry Department: Biochemistry Dept D01045 Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support History and Purpose: Dr. Leland M. Shannon Endowed Fund in Biochemistry was established in 1992 by Mrs. Margaret Shannon, in memory of her husband, Leland Shannon, Dean of the Graduate Division and teacher, researcher and administrator, who died Feb. 18, 1991 at age 63. The fund is open to all undergraduates enrolled in Biochemistry 112. Selection and Guidelines: Students must be enrolled in Biochemistry 112 and submit a one-page double-spaced article stating their goals in Biochemistry and their financial need. Article/essay due on last day of winter quarter classes. Applicant's GPA is verified by Biochem undergraduate secretary.
