Fund: Dr. Raymond Richardson Endowed Scholarship Fund Department: SOM Gifts Endow Schol Dept D02008 Purpose: Graduate Student Support History and Purpose: Long-time Riverside surgeon Dr. Raymond G. Richardson and his family established UCR's first fully endowed athletic scholarship, the Dr. Raymond Richardson Golf Scholarship Endowment. Although Dr. Richardson passed away that summer, his wife, Rosemarie A. Richardson, and their children, Carol Kimmelman, Laurence W. Richardson, Julie Omsberg and Gayle Richardson, fulfilled his plan with a generous gift to the university. In the summer of 2015, the Richardson family moved the endowed fund to the UCR School of Medicine to provide awards to incoming medical students. The fund name was changed to the Dr. Raymond Richardson Endowed Scholarship Fund. Selection and Guidelines: The UCR School of Medicine Scholarship Selection Committee selects a recipient for this scholarship annually. There is no application procedure for students. The scholarship is renewable if the student is in good academic standing and is recommended by the committee to have the scholarship renewed. The UCR School of Medicine will notify the student award recipient. Request for Information: Request Scholarship Information
