History and Purpose:

Robert Grey served as acting Chancellor of the University of California, Riverside from July 2007 through August 2008. During the year, he and his wife Kathleen opened the Chancellor's Residence and their hearts to UCR's faculty, students, staff, donors and community.

Acting Chancellor Grey was passionate about UCR's critical need for undergradute scholarships. He knew that the only way UCR could compete in attracting students with exceptional acdemic records was through the availabaility of merit scholarships, and that availability of need based scholarships would ensure that every eligible student who chooses to pursue a UC education would be able to enroll at UCR.

This Fund shall be used to provide undergraduate student support.

Selection and Guidelines:

To provide support to undergraduate students at UCR. The award will be administered by UCR's Financial Aid Office, will be made to a UCR student in good standing based upon merit and need.

In years when there is no candidate who meets the criteria, awards will be held until the following year.

More than one scholarship may be distributed per year.
