History and Purpose:



Dr. Robert Calfee was the dean and a professor of UCR's Graduate School of Education, where he came in 1998 after teaching for 29 years at Stanford University. He has authored and/or edited numerous books including Textbooks for Learning: Nurturing Children's Minds and Teach Our Children Well.

In August 2004, Dr. Calfee and his wife Nel Little established the Robert C. Calfee and Nel Little Calfee Endowed Doctoral Graduate Student Fellowship Fund to provide fee support for students in the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Education who have completed their oral examinations and are entering the dissertation stage of their program.

Selection and Guidelines:



The award is open to candidates in any of the GSOE's doctoral programs who have completed their oral exams and are entering the dissertation stage of their program. The names of fellowship recipients are listed on a plaque posted in the School to celebrate their accomplishments and to recognize the gift.

 Request for Information:

no application is accepted for the fellowship/scholarship
