History and Purpose:

Dr. Lauren D. Anderson was a member of the original faculty in entomology at the University of California, Riverside. Mildred was "Andy's" loving companion for 57 years. Dr. Anderson served as a faculty member for 28 years retiring in 1976 at the rank of full professor. His research in immature insects brought genuine distinction to the UCR campus and international recognition to him. Until his death in 2000, Dr. Anderson was an active member of UCR Association of Emeriti.

The Lauren D. and Mildred D. Anderson Endowed Graduate Assistantship in Immature Insects provides support for an annual stipend to be paid to a graduate researcher doing research in the area of immature insects.

Income from this endowment shall provide an annual stipend to be paid to a graduate researcher doing research in the area of immature insects.

Selection and Guidelines:

Recipient selected by a committee appointed by the chair of the Entomology Department in cooperation with the Dean of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
Selection of student to receive assistance from this endowment shall be vested in a committee appointed by the Chair of Entomology Department in cooperation with the Dean of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
