Fund: Darin and Lori Anderson Promise Scholarship Fund Department: Undergrad Student Financial Aid D02089 Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support Purpose and Use of Fund: Annual scholarship support for undergraduates earning their degree (major) from the Bourns College of Engineering, the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences, and/or the School of Business. Each annual scholarship will be approximately $2,500 to reduce student financial debt from tuition and fees. These scholarships should be awarded to students who have an indomitable spirit - have overcome adversity, demonstrate outstanding scholarship, have financial need, and have demonstrated a commitment to enriching the community through service and leadership. Criteria and Selection The award shall be used to provide undergraduate student support for students meeting the following criteria: 1.) Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 2.) Maintain outstanding academic standing with the university, having a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. 3.) Have declared a major within either the Bourns College of Engineering, the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences, or the School of Business. 4.) Have positively impacted our community through leadership positions and/or community service activities (e.g. student organization officers, student government, fraternity/sorority officers, non-profit volunteer positions in the community, etc.). Students are eligible to receive this scholarship for consecutive years, but must reapply annually. Students must apply for the award with the Financial Aid Office at UCR.
