History and Purpose:

Susan Wyse attended University of California, Riverside as a Regent Scholar and participated in the Honors Program. She double majored in English and History and graduated in 2004, Magna Cum Laude. While at UCR, Susan received the Alpha Omega award for her outstanding leadership and exceptional commitment as a student employee of the Academic Resource Center. Susan was goal driven and went on to UCLA obtaining her law degree. In loving memory this fund is being established by her sister, Lacey Wyse-Diaz to honor how much Susan valued her UCR education. Susan was known for her selflessness, generosity and inspiration to others. She loved baking, running and travel. This award serves to celebrate Susan's life as she will be dearly missed. This Fund shall be used to provide need-based financial assistance to an undergraduate student with a major in history or English, preferably a student with a double major.

Selection and Guidelines:

The UCR Financial Aid Department will select the award recipient who:
-Has financial need, (to be determined by the UCR Financial Aid Office)
-Is a history or English major, preference will be given to a dual major
-Has overcome or is struggling with diversity in their life
-Students who have worked in UCR's Academic Resource Center will be given preference
