History and Purpose:



This fund was established in 1992 with $500 as a cornerstone to support black undergraduate/graduate students in English within 60 units of graduation. Acknowledgement from Foundation shall be in writing to accountant no later than 30 days from receipt of scholarship funds each year. Awards decided by a committee of professors and the Head of Circulation Services, Rivera Library.

Selection and Guidelines:



The minimum criteria is a 2.7 GPA for undergrads, 3.50 GPA for graduates. Applications will include grades, personal essay and interview. Announcement of award will be made at English Department. function in spring.
