History and Purpose:

Pillars of the Riverside community, Jim Guthrie and Debbi Huffman Guthrie have supported the growth and mission of UC Riverside for more than 15 years. This includes Ms. Huffman's service on the UC Riverside Foundation Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2002. Their generosity has encompassed a wide variety of University initiatives, from the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to the Botanic Gardens and the UCR/California Museum of Photography. In 1995, the Guthries established the Jim Guthrie Research Awards to provide student support in the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology. In 1997, they created the Huffman Family Career Center and the ATHENA Hall of Fame Room in The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management and this award, the Huffamn Guthrie fund for academic excellence.

Selection and Guidelines:

To provide financial assistance to AGSM's Student Affairs Office for support of student activities, student clubs including Accounting Society, Investment Club, awards banquet, etc. It will also assist with internships & outreach efforts.
