History and Purpose:



For students from underrepresented ethnic minority backgrounds, as designated by U.C. Financial Aid indicate that Academic Excellence Awards are no longer being made and funds will be used to cover other scholarships and awards.

Selection and Guidelines:



Students must complete Section IV, #31 of the UC Undergraduate application. Minimum 3.5 GPA and combined SAT scores of 800 or higher. Students invited to participate are identified on admission and interviewed by committee of campus faculty and staff. Offers for admission and Academic Excellence scholarships are sent out by end of March. Students have until May 1 to accept.

The Financial Aid Office selects students based the guidelines listed. No separate application is needed.
