Purpose:

Undergraduate Student Support

History and Purpose:

CHASS Dean's Scholarships funded through the CHASS Undergraduate Student Scholarship Support fund are intended to reward students who have excelled in their studies.

Selection and Guidelines:

Eligible students will be in their junior year at the beginning of Fall quarter annually and have a UCR grade point average of 3.5 or above. Students in all CHASS majors (including undeclared students) are eligible. Students are required to submit one letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Students are also required to write a 350 word essay, with the theme to be determined by CHASS. This essay should describe how the CHASS theme applies to the student's experience of CHASS. Students should submit the following three items: A cover sheet indicating their name, Student Identification Number (SID), grade point average, and major. The letter of recommendation on UCR letterhead in a sealed envelope whose back is signed by the instructor.
