Fund: Charlie Michelson & Morgan Young Oakland Promise Endowed Award Department: Financial Aid Dept D01171 Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support General Purpose: This Fund shall be administered by the UCR Office of Financial Aid and be used toprovide financial assistance to undergraduate students from the Oakland Promiseprogram or Oakland Unified School District. Criteria and Selection Process: The award shall be used to provide undergraduate student support for studentsmeeting the following criteria: - Be an incoming freshman from the Oakland Promise Program and/or Oakland Unified School District. - Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). - Maintain good academic standing with the university. Students should apply for the award through the UCR Office of Financial Aid. Recipients will receive an award of at least $875 each year for four years, beginning in his/her freshman year, so long as the award criteria continues to be met. In years that UCR does not have students from the Oakland Promise program enrolled or students from Oakland Unified School District, awards can be held until the following year.
