Highlander Day of Service

Highlander Day of Service pays homage to UC Riverside’s national recognition as a leader in community service. In 2015, the inaugural year, over 500 participants registered for 25 projects throughout California.

In our third year, we are encouraging Highlanders from across the nation to dedicate a portion of their weekend to give back to their communities by organizing or participating in community service events. Suggested events include:

  • Community clean up
  • Planting trees
  • Feeding the hungry
  • Food drives
  • Volunteering at a charity run

Alumni, students, parents, and friends of UCR are all invited to participate. Groups participating in these events can be large or small—even one person counts! The Alumni Association will assist organizers in advertising to other alumni in their areas. Organizers are responsible for determining a project, and communicating with volunteers who have signed up to participate.
Can’t participate in this year’s event? You can still support UCR by making a donation to one of our projects!
